Kudos to Sesame Street: Julia Moves In
I'm a little late on this one -- however, I recently learned and was heartened to see that Sesame Street is now including a new character, Julia, who has autism.
With one in 68 children in the United States being identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder, according to the estimates of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it is time to destigmatize autism. Kudos to Sesame Workshop for adding this character and for their interactive website called Sesame Street and Autism: See Amazing in All Children.
